Richard Rio - Cataract Surgery Patient

Before undergoing cataract surgery, Richard could simply not drive after dark. But since recovering from the procedure, he can hardly believe how well he sees at any hour. MR. RICHARD RIO: My name is Richard Rio. I've been coming here for three months. I had tried another place, didn't like the way they, all they were after was your money. And just turned me off completely. It feels wonderful when you go into a place and everyone is just kind and helpful. And that's the way they were here, no question, no question. The staff here is just absolutely wonderful. They're polite. And they take time with you to explain things. And you know, it's just not a rush, rush get out of here. You get service here. Before I had the cataract surgery, any light would burst. I couldn't drive at night. My wife had to drive. And then, this is very important, on the golf course, when I hit the ball, someone else had to find it for me. I had no idea where it went. Now, I watch the ball in flight hit the ground and roll. And then I'm finding other people's balls for them. After the surgery, and this was maybe five hours after the first eye, I looked around and I saw colors that I'd never seen before. Colors become so vivid, you just can't imagine. I thought I was seeing colors. But I wasn't. I was not. But, you know, think about what it did. It just completely--I had, I think, a baby's eyesight because I could see everything now. And Dr. Pennachio told me that it would be a heck of a difference. But boy, it was really a difference. The staff on the other side where they actually do the operation, fantastic people. They just make you feel at home. I'd like to come back, but I don’t have any other surgeries.
